2013, Two projects completed:

These last two years have been very exciting for LPAD as we managed to join potential investors with several projects in the Philippines. One such project involved protecting and planting mangroves in Panguil Bay. An investor was found with the fitting name MANGROVE CAPITAL PARTNERS. A new friendship was quickly formed as the investor kindly accepted to turn this proposal from Lanao Aquatic and Marine Fisheries Center for Community Development (LAFCCOD) into reality.

At the end of 2010 LPAD started talks with KASAMMAKA, a rural women’s cooperative in Zamboanga del Sur. Their aim was to upgrade their farm to become independent of the constant brownouts by installing a medium size solar power plant on their farm, and at the same time to provide small solar generators to ten needy families in the mountains, so that they can have solar lighting at night, and not to have to rely on dirty and expensive gasoline lamps.

Through the Eyes of Migrant Workers - Filipino Domestic Workers in Italy

Launch of documentary short film: Filipino Country

This short film visits a Filipino community centre in Italy where we meet migrants working and living in Italy. We invite you to learn through the eyes of the migrants themselves about their reasons for searching for jobs abroad and the reality of decent work in Europe and in their homes in developing countries.

SOLIDAR is working to demonstrate that decent work is a necessity for all workers, wherever they happen to live.

Watch the film on youtube.

SOLIDAR is a European network of 52 NGOs active in over 90 countries working to advance social justice in Europe and worldwide. SOLIDAR voices the concerns of its member organisations to the EU and international institutions across the policy sectors social affairs, international cooperation and lifelong learning.
